A new Chromebook Plus model from Google is the thinnest and lightest yet. The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus comes with Google AI features, such as Help Me Read and Live Translate. Moreover, all Chromebooks will now feature Google’s AI platform, Gemini.

The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus features a 15.6-inch, 400-nit OLED screen on a sleek and lightweight laptop. It is powered by an Intel Core 3 100U processor, has 8GB of RAM, and has 256GB of storage. The Quick Insert key provides instant access to tools such as editing text, adding links, and finding emojis.
Chromebook Plus laptops will also feature AI features such as Help Me Read, which summarizes PDFs and articles, and Live Translate, which translates content into over 100 languages. In addition to AI-powered transcriptions, the Recorder app has improved audio and video quality with new video call features.
With Gemini, all Chromebooks will feature chat and help with tasks like planning trips and generating images. For new Chromebook purchases, Google One AI Premium is also free for three months.
There are also new features like Welcome Recap, which shows recent activity, and Focus, which keeps users focused. For easier access, users can also pin important files to their home screens.
On a single charge, Samsung promises up to 13 hours of battery life. The device offers a variety of ports, including two USB Type-C ports, two USB Type-A ports, and a headphone/microphone jack. It weighs around 1.17 kg and measures 11.8mm thick.

Starting at $699 in the US, the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus will be available for €799 in some EU markets.
