Redmi is quietly preparing its next move with the Redmi K80 lineup while Xiaomi prepares for the launch of the Xiaomi 15 series later this month. Two models are expected, the vanilla K80 and the K80 Pro.

Digital Chat Station (DCS) has revealed new details about the Redmi K80 Pro. DCS’s original Weibo post was deleted, but a screenshot was captured before it disappeared.

The Redmi K80 Pro is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. Since the K70 Pro is powered by the current top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, this shouldn’t be a huge surprise.

Unlike the K70 Pro, the K80 Pro might also pack a massive 6000mAh silicon battery.

According to DCS, “energy density set a new high” due to the battery’s ability to store more power in a smaller space.

Silicon-based batteries have a higher energy density than lithium-based ones, enabling either a smaller battery with the same capacity or a larger one in the same size. As a result, a larger battery won’t require the device to be bulkier.

This could lead to a thinner battery and a thinner device overall because of the “new high” energy density.

K80 Pro is also expected to support 100W fast charging. However, DCS mentions that wireless charging will be a key quality-of-life enhancement.

The Redmi K-series would be the first to offer a cable-free way to top up your phone.
