In China, Oppo has just launched the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro smartphones. The Find X8 Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Elite is expected to launch in the home market in Q1 2025. In addition to the X8 Ultra, the Oppo Find N5 is expected to be announced in the same quarter. New details about the N5 are revealed in the following Weibo post from tipster Digital Chat Station.

The tipster reported that the engineering prototype of the Oppo Find N5 was similar to that of the Find N3. On the back, it continues to feature a large circular camera module. Tipster revealed the Find N5’s screen size had been increased, but did not disclose the exact size. As previously reported by the same source, the device’s internal screen will support 2K+ resolution.

According to reports, the Oppo Find N5 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, making it the world’s first foldable smartphone. In contrast to its predecessor’s 4,805mAh battery, the N5 will house a dual-cell battery (2,460mAh + 3,105mAh) with a rated capacity of 5,565mAh. Around 5,700mAh is the typical battery capacity.

The device is not confirmed to support wired charging, though wireless charging is rumoured. Even Oppo teased that the N5 would include magnetic wireless charging.

Oppo Find N5’s triple camera system features a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom optimized for Hasselblad cameras. According to a previous leak by DCS, the Find N5 is slim, measuring around 9.x mm when folded. A custom-made slim USB-C port will keep this sleek profile.

There are rumors that the Find N5 may be rebranded as the OnePlus Open 2 in select markets, such as India, Europe, and the US, although no details about its launch are available.
