Oppo unveiled ColorOS 15, an Android 15 skin ahead of the launch of its Find X8 series flagships.
Fluid UI:
New icons, dynamic lighting effects, natural light, and shadow elements are featured across the user interface. With Aurora and Tidal Engine, you can run app animations in parallel to have responsive and lag-free animations when switching between apps.
New motion effects and consistently smooth animations resulted in an 18% improvement in app responsiveness and a 26% improvement in app installation speed. Additionally, Oppo introduces a system-level dynamic cache allocation feature that manages resources in real-time and ensures fluid operation.
Customisation:
From the lock screen to the wallpaper, users can customize their phones with dynamic themes. Using the new Control Center, you can access important functions, such as Wi-Fi and media controls, with just a single tap.
Users can run two apps simultaneously using Dual App Split-Screen Mode. Switching between apps is made easier with this feature, which makes multitasking more efficient.
The notification shade has been separated from the control centre by Oppo.
AI Features:
ColorOS 15 features a lot of AI. Users can summon the company’s XiaoBu Assistant on any screen and have natural conversations with it based on continuous content-aware queries. On any screen, you can use the circle to search option as well.
Also included is a smart image upscaling feature, a one-touch reflection removal, and a blur removal feature for portraits. EIS is now supported in Live Photos.
AI has been added to other areas, such as the notes app, which formats and summarizes notes. You can now scan documents with embedded summaries and translate them between languages. Recordings can also be summarized and transcribed with the voice recorder.
Oppo Share & more:
Also included in the update is OPPO Share, which is now compatible with iPhones. Users can transfer files, photos, and videos quickly between devices, even across platforms.
Additionally, ColorOS 15 introduces Automatic SMS Cleanup, which detects and removes expired verification codes from messages, helping users keep their inboxes organized.
Eligible Devices:
The upcoming Oppo Find X8 series and OnePlus 13 devices in China will come with ColorOS 15. OnePlus’ Ace 3 series and Find X7-series will also receive the update in November, along with the Find N3 and Find N3 Flip.
