The next version of OnePlus’ Android skin was officially announced today. OxygenOS 15 is based on Android 15, which Google released to its Pixel phones just last week. On October 30, OxygenOS 15’s first open beta will be released for the OnePlus 12. The stable version could be released at the end of November.
According to OnePlus, OxygenOS 15 is a major update that emphasizes speed, design, and artificial intelligence. Due to Parallel Processing, animation interactions have been refined. Even during heavy usage, this should deliver a smooth experience.
When the OnePlus 13 launches, OxygenOS 15 will take 20% less storage space than OxygenOS 14 did on the OnePlus 12.
AI Features:
OnePlus touts its AI Detail Boost feature, which “can transform low-resolution or cropped images into stunning 4K visuals in seconds.”.That’s big if it’s true. Photo albums are built-in with this feature.
With AI Unblur you get exactly what you expect, and with AI Reflection Eraser you get photographs that are free of glass reflections. Your AI Toolbox, which incorporates AI Reply, is located in the smart sidebar. As a result, you will receive contextually relevant responses based on your conversations.
Google’s Gemini will replace Google Assistant on the OnePlus 13 and Intelligent Search will improve on-device searching with AI. OxygenOS 15 will also include Circle to Search. With Pass Scan, you can quickly scan paper or digital boarding passes. The AI Notes can format, expand or reduce content, adjust formality, and ensure that notes are well-structured and polished, and they can also be voiced.
UI Changes:
Additionally, the new software includes a new boot animation, new icons, and more shelf card options for fingerprint unlocking. It even adds “complete Shimmering Effects” and “Gaussian Blur” to its system to provide a “smooth and natural visual experience”. Control centre, notification bar, and Settings menu have all been simplified.
The Share with iPhone feature even lets you share files with iPhones. Google announced a while ago that OxygenOS 15 would include theft protection features.
