Intel has launched its first desktop AI PC processor family, the Intel Core Ultra 200S, following the launch of the Intel Core Ultra 200V laptop processors last month. The new generation of Intel Core Ultra, codenamed Arrow Lake-S, promises up to 50% better performance in AI applications. From October 24th, 2024, Intel Core Ultra 200S series processors will be available in retail stores and OEM partner systems.
Core Ultra 200S processors are Intel’s first desktop processors to feature AI PC capabilities, and they also have a dedicated neural processing unit.
Taking the lead is Intel’s flagship Core Ultra 9 285K processor. These processors have up to 24 cores, of which 8 are performance cores and 16 are efficiency cores. Intel Core Ultra 200S series, powered by a new NPU, promises 50% better performance in AI-enabled creator applications.
With Intel’s new architecture, the Core Ultra 200S family has five unlocked desktop processors that perform 6% faster in single-threaded performance and 14% faster in multi-threaded performance.
There is a clear emphasis on performance per watt with this generation of chips. To keep the chips cool, but more importantly, to prevent them from overheating. New motherboards will also accompany the Core Ultra 200S processors.
Features:
Core Ultra 200S processors are excellent in AI-based creator applications and gaming due to their 36-platform TOPS. This series of processors offers up to 28% better gaming performance.
Intel’s Core Ultra 200S series processors are equipped with Intel’s 800 series chipset, which supports 24 PCIe 4.0 lanes, 8 SATA 3.0 ports, and 10 USB 3.2 ports.
For P-cores and E-cores, the 200S series desktop processors offer fine-grain overclocking controls with 16.6MHz steps. With Intel Silicon Security Engine, the 200S series desktop processors ensure better data confidentiality and code integrity.
