Vivo product manager Han Boxiao revealed the design of its new compact flagship, the Vivo X200 Pro Mini, ahead of its launch. The new Vivo X200, the base model, was officially unveiled today.

As per the source, Vivo X200, X200 Pro, X200 Pro Mini, and X200 Ultra are among the models in the X200 series.

On the back of the standard Vivo X200 model, a textured finish creates an “ocean wave” effect. When viewed from different angles, this wave-like pattern changes appearance.

It is not the first time Vivo has experimented with unique back designs. Vivo Y100, for instance, featured “Color Changing” technology that allowed its rear panel to change colour when exposed to sunlight or UV rays.

The company official said (translated), “Sometimes it resembles a stormy ocean, sometimes it gleams like silk in the sun, and at other times, it sparkles like a gemstone covered in dew.”

Vivo’s X series smartphones feature this innovative finish, which is rare among most flagship phones.

On closer inspection, the Vivo X200 appears to have a flatter design. It comes with less rounded edges on the back and flat sides. The previously revealed X200 Pro Mini has completely flat sides. On the circular camera island, the ZEISS logo is prominently displayed. Lastly, it features triple rear cameras.
