Redmi is launching its new Note 14 Pro series smartphones in China this week. In November or December, the company will likely introduce new devices from the K80 series.

Initially, there will be a vanilla Redmi K80 and a Redmi K80 Pro. According to a new leak, the standard Redmi K80 has a big battery, as well as a few key details.

According to Weibo tipster Smart Pikachu, the Redmi K80 will feature “flagship waterproofing.” Unlike last year’s Redmi K70 and Pro, the K80 will be waterproof.

Even the more affordable Redmi Note 14 Pro has already been confirmed to have an IP69 rating, so we expect an IP68 rating at the very least.

The tipster also claims the smartphone will have a telephoto lens that can take macro photos as well. This would be another notable upgrade from the Redmi K70, which has a triple rear camera but no telephoto lens. According to reports, the phone’s back is made of glass, and white could be one of its colours.

As a final note, the leak mentions a 6500mAh battery will power the phone. In 2024, smartphones will have big batteries, especially those with a capacity of 6000 mAh or more.

According to a previous report, the Redmi K80 may be equipped with a 2K OLED panel and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.

The K80 will launch alongside its Pro sibling, which is expected to have the same chipset and display but may have different battery and charging capabilities.

In markets outside of China, the K80 and K80 Pro may be rebranded as Poco F7 and F7 Pro.
