Samsung Galaxy A16 5G rumours keep swirling around. Details about the phone’s design, specs, and launch window have now surfaced on certification websites and leaked renders.

Samsung’s next budget-friendly 5G device has been revealed in some marketing materials obtained by The Tech Outlook.

Design:

In terms of design, the Galaxy A16 5G follows Samsung’s current A-series design language. On the back, three vertically stacked cameras are accompanied by an LED flash. Unlike the predecessor’s plastic back, the panel is made of glass with a glossy sheen.

You get a “key island” on the side, which contains the power button and volume rocker (and likely the fingerprint sensor).

For the selfie camera, there’s a waterdrop notch on the front. Gold, Blue, and Light Green are rumoured colour options.

Specs:

The new Galaxy A16 5G sports a 6.7-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The notch carries a 13MP selfie shooter with an aperture of f/2.0. On the back, the Galaxy A15 features triple-rear cameras with a 50MP main shooter with f/1.8 aperture, along with a 5MP ultra-wide & 2MP depth sensor with an aperture of f/2.4 with LED flash.

The Galaxy A16 5G is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC or Exynos 1330 SoC. The device is coupled with 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage. It also comes with a dedicated microSD card slot. All this is packed with a 5000 mAh battery with 25W fast charging support and runs on Android 14 with One UI 6.1.1 on top. Further, the device also features a fingerprint scanner on the side. Six major Android updates and six years of security patch support stood out to us most.

This time the Galaxy A16 5G is also IP54 rated making it water-resistant. It measures 164.4 x 77.9 x 7.9mm and weighs around 192-200 grams, depending on the model.

As the source claims, the Indian variant will come with a MediaTek chip, so it’s unclear when Samsung will launch the Exynos variant.
