Last month, we saw the first leak for the HMD Hyper, which came with a detailed spec sheet and a render. On X.com, the same source @smashx_60 has shared additional renders alongside some new specs clarifications for the upcoming device.
As a successor to the Nokia X30, which launched in 2022, HMD Hyper features a design similar to the more recent HMD Skyline with sharp corners and curved lines. Besides the yellow colour that leaked previously, we also see three other colours. There are teal, red, and grey variants available. The leak indicates that the device will have a metal frame and a glass back.
Specs:
HMD Hyper will sport a 6.5″ OLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The device is powered by Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC coupled with 8GB/12GB of RAM, and 128GB/256GB of storage. Surprisingly the phone comes with a storage expansion option via microSD card slot.
HMD Hyper comes with a 50MP main sensor coupled with an 8MP ultra-wide. There is a new 13MP 2x telephoto camera with 4x zoom support. Within the punch-hole cutout is a 50MP camera for selfies. With its AI Capture Fusion, HMD maximizes the detail in photos taken with it.
Moreover, it will be dust and splash-resistant, with an IP67 rating. The device ships with a 4700 mAh battery with 33W fast charge and 15W wireless charging support.
The HMD Hyper will also have an under-display fingerprint sensor and stereo speakers. It runs on Android 14 OS out of the box. Security updates will be provided for 3 years and 2 OS updates.
