Xiaomi may unveil its flagship phones powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in the fourth week of October, according to reports. Xiaomi introduced the 14 series last year for 3,999 Yuan (~Rs.47,500/-). Rumours have suggested that the 15 series will cost at least 500 Yuan more than its predecessor. Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro starting prices have been tipped in a new report from CNMO.
The publication claims that the Xiaomi 15 will cost 4,599 Yuan (Rs.54,500/-), while the 15 Pro is priced at 5,499 Yuan (Rs.65,100/-). According to the tech blogger, the price hike is due to rising chipset and storage costs. As a result, smartphone manufacturers must adjust their pricing strategies. The Xiaomi 14 launch event further confirmed that the Xiaomi 15 series will no longer start at 3,999 yuan like the Xiaomi 14 series.
TSMC’s N3E process has significantly increased manufacturing costs, according to renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. There is a price difference between $190 and $200 between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and this model. The Xiaomi 15 series’ final price will undoubtedly be affected by this high chip cost.
According to existing leaks, Xiaomi’s 15 series will undergo a comprehensive upgrade, including large primary sensors, telephoto macros, in-display fingerprint scanners, glass bodies, silicon anode batteries, wireless rapid charging, and IP68 dust and water resistance.
