Xiaomi, one of the top three smartphone brands in the world, has been launching phones with chipsets from Qualcomm, MediaTek, and Shanghai-based Unisoc (formerly Speedtrum). Xiaomi and Unisoc collaborated on a 4nm chipset earlier this year, and reports indicate the first Xiaomi-branded chipset will launch in early 2025.
According to reliable tipster Yogesh Brar, the Xiaomi chip will have some key features. TSMC’s 4nm N4P node is expected to be used, and Unisoc is expected to develop the 5G modem. It is predicted that the SoC will offer the same performance as Qualcomm’s flagship chip of 2021 and 2022, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
Xiaomi has developed chipsets before. In 2017, the brand released the Mi 5c smartphone with its Surge S1 chip. It features 8x Cortex A53 cores, half clocked at 2.2 GHz, and the other half at 1.4 GHz, along with a Mali-T860 GPU.
