In Europe, the vivo V40 has been available for a while, but it’s only now that the company officially launches it. The V40 Pro joins the vivo V40 to bring a substantial battery capacity upgrade while maintaining ultra-thin body construction. The package also includes new camera setups and designs.
Design:
In comparison to the V30, the V40 looks nothing like its predecessor. There is now a large oval-shaped camera module with smaller circular housings for dual camera sensors, prominently branded with Zeiss.
In addition to the main camera setup, there is another oval cutout containing Vivo’s trademark Aura light, as well as an additional sensor that remains unclear. This phone still has the same curved-edge display and minimal bezels as the V30.
Vivo V40:
The new Vivo V40 will sport a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED flat display (2400×1080p) with 120Hz refresh rates. The Vivo V40 is now powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC coupled with 8GB/12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB/256GB UFS 2.2 storage space.
Vivo V40 features a 50MP OmniVision OV50E sensor, f/1.88 aperture with an OIS coupled with a 50MP ultra-wide sensor. On the front, it ships with a massive 50MP selfie shooter with dual soft LED flash.
The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with Dual 5G, 4G LTE, VoLTE support, Wifi 5, A-GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and USB Type-C port. It also gets IP68 certified making dust and water-resistant.
It packs a 5500 mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. The device runs on Android 14 with OriginOS 4.0 on top. It measures 7.19mm thick and weighs 193g. The device also gets NFC and in-display fingerprint support. It comes in Meteor Blue, Moonlight White, Stellar Silver, Nebula Purple and Sunglow Peach colour.
Vivo V40 Pro:
The new Vivo V40 Pro will sport a 6.78-inch 1.5K (1,260 x 2,800p) 10-bit AMOLED curved display with 120Hz refresh rates. The Vivo V40 Pro with Dimensity 9200+ SoC coupled with 12GB/16GB RAM and 256GB/512GB storage space.
Vivo V40 Pro features a 50MP main IMX921 sensor with an OIS coupled with an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. There is a 50MP IMX663 telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom having an aperture of f/1.98. On the front, it features a massive 50MP selfie shooter. The Aura Light ring flashes on both V40 phones provide softer illumination. As well as ZEISS optics, there is an Aura light and ZEISS-style portraits.
The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with Dual 5G, 4G LTE, VoLTE support, Wifi 6, A-GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and USB Type-C port. The device also comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings making it dust and water-resistant.

Vivo V40 is priced at Rs. 34,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model, Rs. 36,999 for the 8GB + 256GB model, and Rs. 41,999 for the top-of-the-line 12GB + 512GB model.
Vivo V40 Pro is priced at Rs. 49,999 for the 8GB + 256GB model and Rs. 55,999 for the 12GB + 512GB model.
There is a pre-order period beginning today, August 7th, on vivo.com, Flipkart, and in offline stores. The phones will go on sale on August 19th and 13th, respectively.
