Although foldable smartphones have been around for more than six years, tri-fold devices are expected to be the next big thing. Oppo is taking its turn to unveil its upcoming tri-fold smartphone following teasers from Huawei and Tecno.
A render of Oppo’s tri-fold device was shared by Zhou Yibao, product manager for the Find series. It features two hinge elements, a nearly bezel-less main screen, and a faux leather back. With large widgets and a taskbar, the device appears to run a modified version of Oppo’s ColorOS. Currently, we don’t have any details about the hardware.
Reports indicated that Oppo and Vivo were exiting the foldable smartphone market earlier this year. This report was later refuted by Oppo, which assured that it would continue developing new foldable devices in the future.
