Apple will produce the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max in India alongside China, according to a report earlier this week.

Foxconn, a key Apple manufacturing partner, has already begun training its workers at its Tamil Nadu facility in India. There is now further evidence that the “Made in India” iPhone 16 Pro models are indeed on their way.

A Weibo user shared an image of what appears to be the seal on the iPhone 16 Pro box. It is noteworthy that the label reads “Designed by Apple in California.”. Assembled in India.”

This leak comes from an unfamiliar source, but it aligns with the rumours about the “Made in India” iPhone Pro models, making it possible that it is authentic.

The iPhone 16 Plus and 16 will not be assembled in India, only the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max. Local production in India is expected to begin shortly after the launch of the new models to meet the initial demand.

Along with Foxconn, other Apple partners in India, such as Pegatron and Tata Group, are also expected to start producing iPhone 16 Pro models soon.

It is not Apple’s first attempt to assemble iPhones in India. Apple began manufacturing the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models in the country last year.

The new iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max assembled in India are likely to be exported to the US, Middle East, and Europe since demand for the latest iPhones is modest in India because of their high price.
