In India, Jio is bringing its STB-exclusive JioTV+ app to leading smart TV devices. You can now download the app on Android TV, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire OS devices. There are already app stores available for the app on a variety of platforms.
With JioAirFiber and JioFiber connections, JioTV+ was previously exclusive to JioSTB. The app is now available for smart TV users without requiring an STB box. It can be downloaded from the Google Play Store on Android Smart TVs. You can do the same with Apple TV and Amazon TV.
The telecom operator has also announced a 2-in-1 offer for JioFiber users along with JioTV+. Users can connect two TVs with one JioFiber connection without incurring additional charges, connections, or STBs.
More than 800 digital channels will be available to JioTV+ users. The categories include news, entertainment, sports, music, kids, business, and devotionals. The system provides universal smart TV remote compatibility, a smart filter, a smart modern guide, a playback option, and the ability to watch previously aired shows.
A single login will also give users access to 13 OTT services. Among them are JioCinema Premium, Disney+ Hotstar, SonyLiv, Zee5, SunNXT, Hoichoi, Discovery+, Lionsgate Play, Fancode, ETV Win, ShemarooMe, Eros Now, and Alt Balaji. Kid-friendly content is also available in a dedicated section.
Soon, JioTV+ will be available on LG OS smart TVs. Non-Android Samsung smart TVs will not receive the app, however. If you don’t own a smart TV, you can opt in for Jio STB with your Jio Fiber connection and access JioTV+.
