Taiwanese chipmaker MediaTek is reportedly ready to launch its flagship Dimensity 9400 chipset early. According to MediaTek’s CEO, the company’s next flagship chipset will challenge the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 scheduled to launch in October. MediaTek Dimensity 9400 was speculated to launch in October based on the CEO’s statement and Snapdragon’s next flagship chip launch timeline. There appears to be a more precise launch date for the chipset now.

Digital Chat Station, a reliable Chinese tipper, recently claimed that MediaTek would launch its Dimensity 9400 chipset early. According to the tipster’s last Weibo post, MediaTek is targeting a mid-October launch for the high-end SoC. MediaTek has been launching its high-end processors in the last quarter of the year, so this is a surprise. The early launch of Dimensity 9400 is justified by the release date of Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

Additionally, the tipster predicts that smartphones with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will debut in November or December. It is also reportedly in the works to launch a mid-range Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phone around the same timeframe. The tipster did not mention the name or model of the device in his post.

It’s also possible that a smartphone with MediaTek Dimensity 8400 will launch around the same time. Furthermore, it would be priced lower than the alleged Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phone.

The leak about Dimensity 9400 is consistent with other reports hinting at early launches of Vivo X200 and Oppo Find X8 phones. These phones are expected to launch ahead of the Xiaomi 15 series, which will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor.

The Dimensity 9400 will launch at a later date, but we cannot confirm an exact date.
