The Pixel 9 series will make its debut at Google’s August 13 launch event. After all the leaks over the last few weeks, we’re also expecting to see the Pixel Watch 3. According to a new report from Android Headlines, we now know more about the technical specifications of Google’s upcoming smartwatches for 2024.

The Pixel Watch 3 will be powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 5100 chipset (SW5100) and Cortex M33 co-processor as the Pixel Watch 2. It also appears to be sticking with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Only the display appears to have been upgraded in terms of performance.

Unlike the Pixel Watch 2, the Pixel Watch 3 will reportedly have a 60Hz screen refresh rate. As a result, the experience should be much smoother and more fluid. According to the report, the refresh rate for the Always-on Display will be adjusted from 1Hz to 60Hz when actively used, balancing performance and power consumption.

Despite its faster display and brighter chip, the Pixel Watch 3’s battery life raises some concerns. Leaks suggest the regular model will feature a 307mAh battery, slightly more than the 306mAh cell in the Pixel Watch 2, while the larger Pixel Watch 3 XL may utilize a 425mAh cell.

According to previously leaked marketing materials, Google is still promising 24 hours of battery life on both models, but we were hoping to see some improvements.
