Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun always aims to wow on stage, and today was no exception. Additionally, the company introduced a range of new wearables, including a premium sports watch, a cheap but capable smart band, and TWS buds.

Xiaomi Watch S4 Sport

The body is made of titanium and the glass is sapphire. You can choose from four straps: fluoroelastomer, silicone, braided or titanium Milanese.

The Xiaomi Watch S4 Sport can dive down to 40m (130ft), was tested by PADI and received EN13319 diving certification. For sports tracking algorithms (e.g. measuring lactate thresholds), Xiaomi also partnered with watchmaker Suunto.

It supports five GNSS constellations with dual-band reception for outdoor training. The eSIM allows you to leave your phone at home and still have access to offline maps.

Underneath the sapphire glass is a 1.43″ OLED display that reaches 2,200 nits for excellent outdoor visibility. Xiaomi manages to fit a 586mAh battery inside and advertises a battery life of up to 15 days.

Sapphire glass also protects the heart rate and blood-oxygen sensors on the back. According to Xiaomi, the sensor achieves an accuracy rate of 97.2%. NFC can also be used as a car key.

Taking into account its price, it is a premium watch with a CNY 2,000 price tag ($275/€250/₹23,000).

Xiaomi Smart Band 9:

With Always On Display mode enabled, the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 should last up to 9 days. There are 20 vibration modes to choose from and a linear motor.

Xiaomi claims to have improved the accuracy of the heart rate sensor by 16% compared to the previous model. It also worked with Peking University Third Hospital to develop a better way to detect breathing issues during sleep. With the NFC version, the band can also be used as a car key.

The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 starts at CNY 250 for the base model (Rs.2900/-), and CNY 300 (Rs.3500/-) for the NFC version. There is also a ceramic special edition for CNY 350 (Rs.4000/-) that has a metal body.

With the quick change straps, you can customize the look of the band in four colors – pink, black, white, and blue.

Xiaomi Buds 5

Xiaomi says the Buds 5 are almost invisible in your ear when worn, owing to their “semi-in-ear” design. There are only 4.2g of weight in each bud, but the headphones can last up to 39 hours with the case attached.

It supports Qualcomm’s aptX Lossless audio codec (up to 2.1Mbps) and has been tuned by Harman AudioEFX. With three microphones, Active Noise Cancellation and AI noise reduction are available. Multi-point connectivity and spatial audio are also included.

IP54-rated, the buds are sweat- and rain-resistant. The Xiaomi Buds 5 cost CNY 700 ($97/€89/₹8,000).
