At Vivo’s annual imaging festival in Qinghai yesterday, the company outlined its next steps in smartphone imaging technology. With its next-generation flagships, the company will introduce the new Blueprint image sensor, developed internally.

Using their self-developed VCS 3.0 technology, the sensor is manufactured on a 22nm process. Vivo says the Blueprint sensor will also deliver improved HDR previews and video recording through “True-TCG HDR” technology.

A new generation of Vivo’s Blueprint Algorithm Matrix optimizes telephoto performance with the sensor. It is the largest visual generation model ever implemented in a Vivo smartphone, with over 1 billion parameters.

As part of this announcement, the company teased its upcoming “Blueprint Imaging Chip.” Using AI, it aims to improve low-light and backlit portraits.

These new imaging technologies will be integrated into Vivo’s upcoming flagship smartphones, the company announced at the event. The Vivo X200 series is likely to include the models even though the company did not officially reveal their names.

Besides these hardware and software advancements, Vivo announced that its popular humanistic camera mode will soon be available on other phones as well.
