Rumours suggested a few days ago that some Galaxy Tab S10 models might feature MediaTek processors. Samsung appears to be taking a more decisive approach, equipping all upcoming high-end tablets in the Tab S10 line with MediaTek 9300+ processors.

According to Ice Universe, all Galaxy Tab S10 variants will ditch Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors. Initially, there were rumours that one Tab S10 model would use the MediaTek Dimensity chip, but Samsung has now completely altered its strategy. It is reported that these tablets will be launched in October 2024.

There are likely to be several factors driving the decision if it proceeds. Qualcomm’s high-end processors have risen in price in recent years, which could be one of the reasons. Samsung could set more competitive prices for the Tab S10 series by switching to MediaTek as a strategic cost-saving measure.

Geekbench also spotted the US variant of the Galaxy Tab S10+ with the Dimensity 9300+ processor. MediaTek’s current flagship chip boasts 8 high-performance CPU cores and a powerful GPU, built on a 4nm process.

The benefits of Samsung’s switch to MediaTek remain to be seen. As the official launch is still months away, it will be interesting to see how the Tab S10 series performs and positions itself in the competitive tablet market.
