Initially, Samsung’s first public beta for One UI 7 based on Android 15 was intended to launch this week for the Galaxy S24 family. A new rumour says it won’t happen anytime soon. According to reports, it’s been pushed back to the third week of August.
It appears that the delay is due to the One UI 6.1.1 update, which is still being rolled out to older foldables, tablets, and high-end devices. Samsung seems to focus on one update at a time.
The One UI 7 update will include a redesign of Samsung’s skin on top of Android. It will have a revamped Quick Settings panel separated from notifications, rounded corners throughout the UI, new icons for Samsung apps, a new lock screen design with battery charging status and thicker shortcuts, a search bar at the bottom of the app drawer, and a new camera app, where the settings and modes are arranged more conveniently with one hand.
As well as new, smoother animations being baked in, we’ll have to wait and see.
