Google’s Pixel phones have AI features that everyone loves and uses. On Android phones, Google recently introduced Gemini alongside Google Assistant. Google plans to release a feature similar to Microsoft’s Recall shortly.

Recall AI takes continuous screenshots while you use your computer, storing them locally. Despite the privacy concerns, this feature is available only on Copilot PCs. If an application is not running, for example, you can ask Microsoft Recall about the file you were working on. Because the software continuously saves what you do on your computer, it can retain data.

It has been reported recently by Android Authority that Google is considering introducing a similar feature. “Screenshots” and “Studio” are two of the new AI features Google plans to unveil. Screenshots’ exact functionality isn’t quite clear yet, but its description suggests you’ll be able to retrieve information from previously saved screenshots. As opposed to Microsoft Recall, which automatically captures screenshots, Google’s approach may only collect screenshots you take yourself.

You can gather information from previously saved screenshots using this feature. If you took a screenshot of a place on Google Maps two weeks ago but don’t remember its name, you can ask Google’s AI, Gemini, “What places did I look at on Google Maps in the past? ”
