In India, Canon has launched its EOS R1 and EOS R5 Mark II cameras. Canon’s new deep-learning autofocus system is featured on both cameras. As they have fast shutter speeds, they are ideal for action photography. It is also capable of recording RAW video up to 8K at 60 frames per second.
Specs:
Canon’s EOS R1 has a 24.2 MP sensor, while its EOS R5 Mark II has a 45MP sensor. They are both back-illuminated stacked CMOS sensors. With the DIGIC X image processor and DIGIC accelerators, large amounts of visual data can be processed quickly. The EOS R5 Mark II and EOS R1 both feature dual-capture modes that allow you to capture 17.8MP JPEG stills while capturing Full HD 60p videos (in the EOS R5).
With its reflex shutter, the EOS R1 offers high-speed burst shooting of up to 40 frames per second. The Canon EOS R5 Mark II is a mirrorless camera with an electronic shutter that can capture 30 frames per second. For improved image quality in challenging lighting conditions, both cameras support Neural Network Noise Reduction.
For improved image and video quality while moving, the cameras feature an in-body 5-axis image stabilizer. A new mechanism and improved algorithms have been used by Canon to enhance stabilization.
Canon EOS R1 can record video in RAW up to 6K 50fps. Additionally, it can record 1080p videos at 240 frames per second. RAW videos can be captured with the Canon EOS R5 Mark II at up to 8K 60fps.
Besides Wi-Fi 6, Canon’s new cameras also support Bluetooth 5.3. Users can use the Canon companion app to quickly transfer photos and videos. Additionally, these are dust and drip-resistant.
Pricing:
Canon’s EOS R1 starts at Rs 6,30,995 and the EOS R5 Mark II at Rs 4,05,995. In November 2024, the Canon EOS R1 will be available in India. Canon’s EOS R5 Mark II will be available in August 2024. In India, both cameras will be available at major camera retailers.
