Many have wondered when we’ll be able to try Apple Intelligence after it was unveiled at WWDC in June. There are still no Apple Intelligence features in any betas as August approaches. It looks like we won’t get anything until iOS 18.1 later in the year.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple Intelligence will miss its launch date to give Apple more time to fix bugs.

Apple is now planning to begin rolling out Apple Intelligence in software updates by October, several weeks after iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia are released.

Software developers will still have access to Apple Intelligence next week with the first betas of iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1, which is highly unusual since the company normally does not release previews of follow-up software updates until the first version is released.

According to the Wayback Machine, the phrase “this summer” was removed by Thursday, June 13th. Apple might not feel comfortable with that claim anymore, or it might mean nothing.

iOS 18 beta 3 showed some signs of Apple Intelligence, but nothing users could use.

According to MacRumors, Apple added a new section titled “Apple Intelligence & Siri” in the Settings app on the Xcode simulator for iOS 18 beta 3. Only the Xcode simulator displayed this section, and it was removed from the tester build. Apple may have been preparing to ship some Apple Intelligence features in beta 3, but later postponed them.

In iOS 18 beta 3, Apple introduced a new emoji keyboard design. In this new emoji keyboard, the emojis are bigger, and there are four rows instead of five. Users reported briefly seeing a “Create New Emoji” button after the new emoji keyboard was introduced. As a result, Apple removed this new emoji keyboard from iOS 18 beta 3.
