There is a possibility that Samsung will delay the launch of Android 15-based One UI 7.0 for Galaxy devices. The company is focusing on developing One UI 6.1.1 for the Galaxy S24 series, pushing the next version of One UI to the back burner, according to a noted industry insider. In a few months, One UI 6.1.1 will arrive with new foldables based on Android 14.
It’s rumored that won’t be the case this year. A bigger update than usual is coming to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 based on Android 14. There will be new AI features and camera fixes for the Galaxy S24 series. Samsung cannot quickly wrap up this update and move on to Android 15-based One UI 7.0. As a result, One UI 6.1.1 will be delayed to ensure it is bug-free.
Samsung will begin rolling out One UI 6.1.1 for the Galaxy S24 series in August, according to tipster Ice Universe. On August 2nd, Samsung released its first One UI 6.0 beta for the Galaxy S23 series based on Android 14. We are looking at a delay of at least a couple of weeks. Samsung is unlikely to release One UI 6.1.1 and One UI 7.0 beta simultaneously.
Samsung may still catch up later even if it starts the One UI 7.0 public beta a couple of weeks late. To ensure a timely release of the stable update, the company could speed up the development of the new One UI version. The stable release of One UI 6.0, which arrived in late October after nine beta builds, was tested for almost three months last year. The same job could be done by Samsung in less time this year to make up for the delayed beta launch.
