Only the Galaxy S25 Ultra will get camera upgrades next year, while the vanilla S25 and S25+ won’t. On X today, some more details about the previously leaked improvements to the S25 Ultra’s camera system were revealed.

In accordance with this rumour, the S25 Ultra will feature Samsung’s 1/2.76″ ISOCELL JN1 sensor, which is smaller than the one in the S24 Ultra and has a 50 MP resolution.

As for the 3x telephoto camera, it will supposedly have a 1/3″ Samsung ISOCELL sensor, slightly larger than that in the S24 Ultra, and will also feature 50 MP resolution just like its ultrawide counterpart in the S25 Ultra.

Furthermore, Samsung is working on new algorithms that are supposed to improve the quality of photos and videos, but no details were shared “as it’s really too early” for them to be available.

It is likely that the main sensor will be the same size as that of the S24 Ultra, and in fact, it could be the exact same sensor as well. It won’t be long before the S25 family is introduced, which is expected to be in January 2025, so we’ll hear a lot more about them before then.
