OnePlus will announce multiple devices at a launch event in China on June 27. One of these is the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro, while the other is the OnePlus Pad Pro tablet. It is expected that both devices will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The brand will also unveil its OnePlus Buds 3 TWS earbuds and a new smartwatch alongside these devices. OnePlus Watch 2 will be branded in China, but its global edition might be called the OnePlus Watch 3. For the global market, the device will be a part of the existing OnePlus Watch 2 series.
Max Jambor mentioned the “OnePlus Watch 2R” name in a recent tweet. The device’s other details, however, were not revealed. This could be the final name for the OnePlus smartwatch’s global edition.
OnePlus unveiled the OnePlus Watch 2 earlier this year, but it was not available in China. With OnePlus Watch 2 only six months old, it is unlikely to have the OnePlus Watch 3 branding on the next watch. The next smartwatch may be called the OnePlus Watch 2R globally, while in China it may be called the OnePlus Watch 2.
According to the TENAA certification of the device in China, it will have a 500mAh battery and support LTE. Its other specifications are unknown.
OPWWE231 is the model number of the Watch 2, while OPWWE234 is the number of the upcoming smartwatch. It is also possible that the OPWWE234 could be a new variant of the OnePlus Watch 2.
“R” usually refers to affordable versions of OnePlus’ flagship products. The OnePlus 12R, for example, is an affordable sibling of the OnePlus 12. It is also possible that the upcoming OnePlus Watch 2R will be a toned-down version of the Watch 2.
