With the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, Apple might make the bezels even thinner, according to a new leak.
These new models could have bezels reduced by up to 40%, which would improve screen-to-body ratios even further. Apple is expected to give the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max larger displays, measuring 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively, according to earlier reports.
According to Weibo user Setsuna Digital, the iPhone 16 Pro Max could have a bezel as thin as 1.15mm, while the iPhone 16 Pro might have a bezel as thick as 1.20mm. Still, they are thinner than even the smallest smartphones currently available.
The leak seems credible even though Setsuna Digital isn’t one of our usual tipsters, since Ice Universe confirmed that the iPhone 16 Pro will have bezels that are thinner than those of the Galaxy S24, making it the “narrowest phone in the world.” A mockup render of the upcoming iPhone’s thin bezels was even shared by the tipster.
Apple’s exact strategy for achieving this is under wraps, but leaks suggest the company may use a “Border Reduction Structure” technology. As a result of this technology, it’s unclear whether the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will cost more.
