MediaTek is expected to unveil the Dimensity 9400 chipset in October, while Qualcomm will announce the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. Vivo will launch the first smartphone powered by Dimensity 9400 today, according to tipster Digital Chat Station.
It is claimed that the Dimensity 9400 will offer impressive energy efficiency, identified by the model number MT6991. The processor uses TSMC’s second-generation N3 process and has a Cortex-X5 super core, 3 Cortex-X4 cores, and 4 Cortex-A7 cores.
It is estimated that the Cortex-X5 super core will run at approximately 3.4GHz when the final frequency is determined, but another high-frequency chip could replace it. In October, the chip’s final performance will be revealed, indicating its unveiling.
After the 5nm process technology, TSMC says 3nm represents a significant step forward. Featuring superior power, performance, and area (PPA) and transistor technology, it stands as the industry’s most advanced process technology.
Dimensity 9300 was first used in the Vivo X100 and X100 Pro, announced in October 2023. Vivo X200 and X200 Pro are likely to be the first smartphones equipped with Dimensity 9400.
According to recent reports, the Oppo Find X8, which also features the Dimensity 9400, will be unveiled in October.
