Sony is preparing to announce new smartphones later this month. While details of the earlier Xperia 1 VI flagship phone have already emerged, press images of the mid-priced Xperia 10 VI device have now been unveiled by tipster Evan Blass on X.
The Xperia 10 VI is set to hit the shelves in three distinct colors: white, black, and light blue. Sony has made a noticeable alteration to the phone’s rear by reducing the camera count, leaving only two cameras alongside an LED flash between them.
The elimination of the telephoto camera results in just the main and ultra-wide-angle cameras remaining. Expectations are high for an improved main camera, possibly featuring a 48MP resolution and offering a 2x Zoom option. At the front, Sony’s signature tall screen may have been slightly widened. Despite this, prominent strips at the top and bottom of the screen persist to accommodate the forward-facing speakers, as indicated by the leaked images.
Located on the right side are the volume buttons, accompanied by a power button that doubles as a fingerprint reader. Moreover, a headphone jack can be found at the top edge of the device. The leaked images suggest that Sony maintains its commitment to full water resistance, potentially boasting IP65 and IP68 ratings for dust and water resistance, akin to its predecessor. Furthermore, expect the Xperia 10 VI to offer various protective covers for convenient carrying options.
Although specific specifications for the Xperia 10 VI are absent from the leak, previous rumors hint at the device being powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC and supported by a 5000mAh battery, all packed into a lightweight design.
