Samsung’s Android skin has a big release day today. As of now, almost 9 million One UI 6.1 devices have been updated, but that number is sure to grow.
It’s because Samsung released a barrage of One UI 6.1 updates today. Currently, the new skin is rolling out to the Galaxy S22 family, Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Flip4, Galaxy Z Flip3, Galaxy Z Fold4, and Galaxy Z Fold3.
The rollout seems limited to South Korea so far, but there is one caveat: so far, it has only been announced in South Korea. Samsung’s updates usually spread quickly around the world, so if you own one of the aforementioned devices, One UI 6.1 should reach you very soon.
On top of all that, the Galaxy S22 series, Fold4, and Flip4 were expected to receive the Galaxy AI features that were introduced in January with the Galaxy S24 family. However, it seems even the Galaxy S21 models, Flip3, and Fold3 are receiving at least some of those features.
As a result, Samsung’s goal of having over 100 million Galaxy AI devices by the end of the year appears quite achievable.
Only Circle to Search will be available for the Galaxy S21 lineup, but that’s not nothing, and it’s probably the best-advertised feature of the package. In the same boat as the Flip3, the Fold3 is also getting AI-generated wallpaper, web page summarization, notes summarization, auto templates in Samsung Notes, live language translation, image editing suggestions, generative AI-powered editing, Interpreter Mode, and voice transcription.
As expected, the Galaxy S22 series, the Fold4 and Flip4 are receiving all of the Galaxy AI features, despite being uncertain a few months ago. In the end, Samsung made the right decision.
