Oppo is ready to unveil its next-generation Reno smartphones. Despite the upcoming launch of Reno12, a fresh leak has hinted that the new phones will also feature a brand-new MediaTek chip.
At the MediaTek Dimensity Developer Conference (MDDC), the company announced its new Dimensity 9300+ SoC. The Reno12 series will also debut with a new Dimensity 8000 series chipset. Digital Chat Station, a known tipster, claims the Reno12 could have a new Dimensity 8250 chip with MediaTek’s “Star Speed Engine”.
It is usually only found in high-end Dimensity 9000 and Dimensity 8300 processors. With the Star Speed Engine, you can play games longer with stable frames and minimal thermal throttling. As a result, the Reno12 could also deliver a flagship-level gaming experience on mobile devices. It is reported that the Dimensity 8250 has a 3.1GHz Cortex-A78 core, three 3.0GHz Cortex-A78 cores, and four 2.0GHz Cortex-A55 cores.
They are going to be paired with a Mali-G610 GPU. According to DCS, the Reno12 Pro may come with the Dimensity 9200+, which could be marketed as the Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition. By the end of this month, Oppo Reno 12 is expected to launch.
