It now seems likely that Apple Watch Ultra 3 will be released this year after all, just over six months after Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted a 2024 Ultra release was “declining.”
While Apple Watch Ultra will be updated this year, Kuo told MacRumors the new model will have “almost no” hardware upgrades over Apple Watch Ultra 2. The Apple Watch Ultra 3 will presumably launch in September, and Kuo did not reveal any specific changes.
If Apple follows a two-year upgrade cycle for the Apple Watch SE, a third-generation model is also possible this year. However, the successor to the Apple Watch Series 9 is unclear. It is unclear when the redesigned “Apple Watch X” will launch, as Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman previously reported that it will arrive “in 2024 or 2025.”
However, Gurman previously said the Apple Watch Ultra 3 would feature blood pressure detection and sleep apnea detection, and these features almost certainly extend to the model that succeeds the Apple Watch Series 9.
Ten years have passed since the original Apple Watch was unveiled in September 2014, and launched in April 2015.
