According to reports, Vivo is developing a new X-series of smartphones for the Chinese market. There will be three models in the lineup: the Vivo X100s, X100s Pro, and X100 Ultra. According to a report by Jiemian News, the X100 Ultra features the company’s own imaging brand, BlueImage.
After Huawei’s XMAGE, which debuted in July 2022, Vivo’s BlueImage will be the second independent imaging brand in the mobile phone industry. As of now, little is known about what BlueImage will offer.
In November last year, Vivo trademarked the BlueImage brand. The company offers a range of imaging-related products, including graphics processors, optical lenses, and sensors.
Huawei began collaborating with Leica, a legendary German manufacturer of cameras and optics, back in 2016. The Huawei XMAGE imaging system was introduced in 2022, as mentioned above. BlueImage’s debut on the X100 Ultra may soon signal the end of the Vivo-Zeiss collaboration that began in December 2020. BlueImage is expected to be available on the Vivo X100s and X100s Pro, which are expected to launch with the X100 Ultra in May.
The Vivo X100 Ultra’s primary camera will be a 50-megapixel LYT-900, a one-inch sensor. Other flagship phones, such as the Oppo Find X7 Ultra and the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, come with the same camera.
