In the coming months, Samsung will release the Galaxy S24 FE Fan Edition. It will be much later in the year. The device is also being developed under what code name. The Fan Edition phone series seems to be gaining traction after a somewhat shaky start.
There was no Galaxy S22 FE released after the Galaxy S20 FE and Galaxy S21 FE – but later a Galaxy S23 FE was released. We can also confirm the development of a Galaxy S24 FE.
After releasing three Galaxy S24 models at the beginning of this year, South Korea is now developing a fourth. As with previous Fan Edition phones, the Galaxy S24 FE is codenamed R12. Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, and Samsung Galaxy S23 FE were codenamed R8, R9, and R11, respectively. Originally, the R10 was supposed to be the S22 FE, but it never made it to market.
Samsung is now working on its R12: the S24 FE. As of right now, we know very little about the device. There is no information on whether the S24 FE will be based on the Galaxy S23 series or the newer S24 models in terms of hardware. After all, the Galaxy S23 FE essentially improved the Galaxy S22 in many ways.
No release date has been announced for the Galaxy S24 FE yet. According to the current status of development, a launch in the summer or early autumn seems unlikely. Hence, we expect the Galaxy S24 FE to launch in late autumn – or even early 2025 at the earliest. This is exactly what happened with the S23 FE, which was available in a few countries in 2023, but not in many others until early in 2024.
