There seems to be a chance that refreshed iPad models will be available soon. A reliable source has pinpointed early May 2024 as a possible launch window for new iPad Air and iPad Pro devices that have been rumored for months.
In his Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, known for his accurate Apple insights, dropped the hint. The new iPads are likely to debut the week of May 6, so we have just about a month to wait.
Apple may release not only a new iPad Pro and iPad Air, but also an updated Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil.
Gurman previously reported that the iPad Pro would feature powerful M3 chips, MagSafe wireless charging, and OLED displays in 11- and 13-inch sizes. You can expect a price increase for the Pro models with OLED technology.
As Gurman also points out, Apple is hard at work updating the standard iPad and iPad Mini. The models may not be available until later this year, “at the earliest.”
Based on Gurman’s research, the base iPad update may be a “cost-reduced” version of the 10th-generation model in 2022. While the iPad Mini retains its familiar design and features, it might get a processor upgrade.
Stay tuned for Apple’s official announcements as an early May launch approaches.
