Starting with iPadOS 18, Apple will no longer support many old-generation iPads. There were rumors back in February that the iPadOS 18 wouldn’t be available on A10X Fusion-based iPads. According to the report, both the first-generation 10.5-inch iPad Pro from 2017 and the second-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro won’t be updated with iPadOS 18. It was quickly deleted, however.
According to 9to5Mac, a recent rumor confirms this. iPadOS 18 will not be available for the 6th generation iPad, second-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro, and first-generation 10.5-inch iPad Pro. In addition to the devices mentioned above, iPadOS 18 will be available on the same devices as iPadOS 17. iPadOS 18 will reportedly be available for the 7th generation iPad from 2019. It’s powered by the A10 Fusion processor.
