There is no difference in screen size between the iPhone 15 Plus and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. As far as we know, the upcoming iPhone 16 Plus will have the same diagonal screen size as its predecessor.

A new rumor suggests that things will change next year. According to Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants, the iPhone 17 Plus will have a smaller screen than the iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 16 Plus.

Despite not specifying a specific panel size, he says the iPhone 17 Plus will sit somewhere between the vanilla iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro Max. However, if the iPhone 16 Pro Max grows to 6.9″, then the iPhone 16 Plus can also grow.

At this point, we can’t take this very seriously since we’re still early in the iPhone 17 family’s development cycle, but it is possible. For us to take it more seriously, we need to see some actual size numbers in the future. It’s likely that Apple will continue to use sizing to differentiate its smartphones next year. As Ross Young shares this kind of information regularly, don’t be surprised if Apple does so.
