Earlier this year, Apple is expected to introduce its iPhone 16 series. Recent leaks have revealed newer details about the flagships. On all models of the series, there is a new ‘Capture button’. Dummy units of the iPhone 16 series have appeared online after the alleged back case of the iPhone 16 Pro leaked online.
Majin Bu shared the iPhone 16 dummy images on Weibo and X (formerly Twitter). It seems these images confirm some of the rumours that have been circulating online. According to a previous rumor, Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will shrink the bezels, allowing for greater screen space without significantly increasing the phone’s size. Despite this, the dummy units show a noticeable size jump between the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro. Putting them side-by-side reveals this.
According to previous rumours, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a screen size of 6.9 inches, up from 6.7 inches. As a result, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will be the largest iPhone to date.
The standard non-Pro models, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, are expected to retain their 6.1 and 6.7-inch sizes. The ‘Action Button’ will now be available to all versions, which was previously available only to the Pros. It will replace the mute slider because it offers custom shortcuts beyond silencing the phone.
Apple’s iPhone 16 has also changed its camera layout in line with earlier rumors. According to the leaked dummy units, the iPhone 15 and 14 have diagonal camera arrangements, while the iPhone 14 and 15 have verticals. As a result of this change, the base iPhone models will be able to record spatial video.
Under the power button on the right spine is the new ‘Capture Button’ on all four iPhone 16 models. Currently, no details are available about the button’s functionality, but it could offer camera functions such as focusing and zooming.
