Samsung has finally announced the much-awaited mid-range smartphone aka the Galaxy A55 & Galaxy A35 in India. The new Galaxy A55 & Galaxy A35 will arrive with almost similar designs and this time the device has a metallic frame and glass back which gives a premium feel.
For both new Galaxy A series phones, Samsung promises four years of major OS updates and five years of security patches. The midrange series got two years less than the flagship series, but it’s still impressive. You’ll also get Samsung’s standalone Knox, as well as the optional Auto Blocker, which can block malicious apps, scan for malware, and block malicious commands.
Galaxy A55:
The Galaxy A55 5G sports the same 6.6-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rates. It comes with optical in-display fingerprint scanner support with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top. The Galaxy A55 5G is powered by the new Exynos 1480 SoC coupled with 6GB/8GB RAM and a 128GB/256GB storage option. There is also an option to expand the memory through a microSD card slot.
The new Galaxy A55 5G will feature triple-rear cameras with a 50MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture with OIS, a 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide sensor, and a 5MP macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture and LED flash. The device comes with a 32MP selfie shooter with an aperture of f/2.2.
The Galaxy A55 5G will ship with the same 5000 mAh battery but comes with 25W fast charge support. Galaxy A55 5G also gets an IP67 rating making it dust and water-resistant & Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. There are four colors available for the Samsung Galaxy A55: Navy, Ice Blue, White, and Purple.
The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with 5G, Dual 4G LTE and VoLTE support, Wifi 6.0, A-GPS, NFC, GLONASS, Bluetooth 5.3 USB Type-C port, FM Radio, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Samsung Galaxy A55 5G runs on Android 14 with One UI 6.1 on top.
Galaxy A35:
The new Galaxy A35 5G will sport a 6.6-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top. It is powered by Exynos 1380 SoC coupled with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage space. It measures 8.2mm thick and weighs 209g.
Samsung Galaxy A35 5G will feature triple-rear cameras with LED flash. The device will come with a 50MP main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture & OIS coupled with an 8MP ultra-wide unit with an f/2.2 aperture. Along with a 5MP macro-sensor with f/2.4 aperture & LED flash. There is a 13MP selfie shooter under the waterdrop notch.
The device will ship with the same 5000 mAh battery with 25W fast charge support. It runs on Android 14 OS with One UI 6.1 on top. It features an in-display fingerprint scanner and IP67 rating making it dust and water-resistant.
The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with 5G, Dual 4G LTE, and VoLTE support, Wifi 6.0, A-GPS, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, GLONASS, Bluetooth 5.2, USB Type-C port, & FM Radio. Galaxy A35 arrives in Awesome Iceblue, Awesome Lemon, Awesome Lilac, and Awesome Navy colors.
Pricing:
Sadly, Samsung India has not yet revealed the pricing details for the new Galaxy A55 & Galaxy A35. The teaser page revealed that Samsung will reveal the pricing and offer details on March 14 at 12 PM.
The Galaxy A35 is priced at €379 in Europe for the variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. There is an 8GB, 256GB, and 449GB version available for €449. Galaxy A55 starts at €479 for 8GB RAM+128GB storage, and €529 for 8GB RAM + 256GB storage.
