Qualcomm is expected to unveil the SM8635 chip this month. It is tentatively called the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. Tipster Digital Chat Station leaked details about the upcoming Neo 9 series phone’s display and rear camera today.
The iQOO Neo9 and Neo9 Pro with the Dimensity 9300 chip were announced by iQOO in December 2023. As part of the Neo8 series, there were two models, the Neo8 and the Neo 8 Pro. With the release of the Neo7 series in 2022, however, three models were available: the Neo7 equipped with the Dimensity 9000+, the Neo7 Racing Edition with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, and the Neo7 SE with the Dimensity 8200.
It is said that iQOO may bring back the Racing Edition model in the Neo9 series, based on rumors swirling on Weibo. iQOO Neo9 Racing Edition may be the name of the forthcoming Neo-branded iQOO phone, according to rumors on Weibo.
According to DCS’ latest Weibo post, the iQOO Neo9 Racing Edition might have a 6.78-inch flat OLED LTPO display with a 1.5K resolution (2800 x 1260 pixels). Also, it’ll have 144Hz refresh rate and 2160Hz PWM dimming. The phone will have a dual-camera system with a 50-megapixel camera on the back and no plastic bracket. It’s likely to have some of the same specs as the iQOO Neo9.
According to the tipster, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 will have 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. It’ll have a plastic frame and a 120W fast charger. The device is expected to launch in April in the home market. There’s no word yet on whether the device will go global.
