Xiaomi’s 14 Ultra has launched in China and will arrive in Barcelona on February 25.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra may look the same as its predecessor, but its design has been refined. The black and white model has a faux leather back panel and weighs 224.4g, 3 grams lighter than the 13 Ultra. On the back of the blue model, Xiaomi calls it Dragon Crystal, and it weighs 229.5 grams. There is also a Titanium Special Edition that weighs 229.6g. This one uses grade 5 titanium, just like the iPhone (and higher than the Galaxy S24 Ultra).
In place of the old camera island’s abruptly raised frame, the 14 Ultra’s lens-like back module gently slopes upward over its surrounding panel.
Specs:
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra will sport a 6.73-inch QHD+ C8 12-bit AMOLED quad-curved LTPO display. It also gets a 120Hz refresh rate along with a 480Hz touch sampling rate. The display also supports HDR10+ and Xiaomi Ceramic Glass protection on top. It is powered by SD 8 Gen 3 SoC coupled with 12GB/16GB RAM and 256GB/512GB/1TB storage.
In terms of imaging capabilities, the device shines. Xiaomi 14 Ultra comes with a new Leica Summicron lens, a new generation of cameras, and a large aperture at all focal lengths. Four Leica cameras with 50MP and large apertures are included on the device. The camera supports snapshots, night scenes, and 8K video, making it a photographer’s dream.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra will indeed feature a 50MP main Sony LYT-900 sensor. Despite having dual apertures, the lens is wider at the bright end, switching between f/1.63 and f/4.0, which will let up to 136% more light through than the 13 Ultra’s f/1.9 – f/4.0 lens. It is coupled with another 50MP 122-degree Ultra-wide Leica sensor along with a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.2x Optical zoom. Lastly, there is a 50MP periscopic lens with 5x optical zoom and OIS support. All three sensors use a Sony IMX858 image sensor. The good thing is that all four of them can shoot videos up to 8K resolution. It also gets Dual color temperature LED flash, Laser AF.
At Xiaomi’s presentation, Xiaomi demonstrated the 14 Ultra’s 30x Ultra Zoom, which Xiaomi described as eclipsing the competition.
There is a 32MP selfie shooter under the punch-hole notch. It also features an in-display fingerprint sensor and X-Axis motor along with Harmon Kardon stereo speakers.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra comes with IP68 dust and is water-resistant. Xiaomi’s Surge P2 and Surge G1 custom chips will monitor battery life and charging.
The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with Dual 4G LTE and 5G (Dual-Mode support), A-GPS, GPS, GLONASS, Dual Band Wifi/Wifi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, USB Type-C port. Both run on Android 14 with the latest HyperOS on top. It packs a massive 5300 mAh battery with 90W fast wired & 80W wireless charging support.
