Oppo recently launched the Reno 11F on the global market, likely the final model in the Reno 11 series. Now that that’s over, the brand is focusing on its Reno 12 series, which is expected to arrive in June. Earlier this week, the Reno 12 series’ chipset was revealed. Now, a new leak from Weibo tipster Wisdom Pikachu has revealed some key camera specifications.
As per the tipster, the Reno 12 series will include a custom Sony camera lens, which suggests greater photographic capabilities. It is unclear how the camera upgrade will affect image quality, but speculation points to a change.
Reno12 may be equipped with a MediaTek processor named MTK 24M, though the exact processor name is unknown. The device is expected to be equipped with 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.
As for the Reno12 Pro, it is expected to have a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 (MTK DX-2) processor and 12GB of RAM. In addition, both phones are rumored to have 6.7-inch FHD OLED displays with 120Hz refresh rates.
Oppo Reno12 series cameras are said to feature a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization, along with an 8MP and a 50MP lens offering 2x optical zoom. The vanilla and Pro models may have slight differences in specifications. It is possible that the smartphones could have a 50MP front-facing camera with autofocus.
The device is also expected to have an IP65 rating and a 5000mAh battery with 67W charging support.
Reno12 smartphones are expected to launch in June 2024, according to the leak. Prices are still unknown, but the publication suggests the Reno12 could cost $499 (Rs.41,500/-) and the Reno12 Pro could cost $799 (Rs.66,500/-).
