An updated timeline for the One UI 6.1 software update for older Galaxy devices has been revealed by Samsung.
The update will begin rolling out in late March 2024, focusing first on flagship devices such as the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series.
With One UI 6.1, which arrived with the Galaxy S24 lineup, Samsung is introducing several new AI features under the banner “Galaxy AI.” With the announcement of One UI 6.1, these features will be available to older devices as well.
Over 100 million Galaxy devices will have these “Galaxy AI” features by 2024. The following are some key AI-powered tools:
Chat Assist is one of Galaxy AI’s major features, which adjusts message tone and translates messages into 13 languages. Live Translate translates calls on the go, and Interpreter translates live conversations with a split-screen interface on the device.
For seamless user experience, there is also Circle to Search with Google, Note Assist, Browsing Assist, and Transcript Assist. With Generative Edit, AI-enabled devices can realign objects in photos for a better shot, and Instant Slow-mo provides additional frames for slow-motion videos of action-packed moments.
There should already be One UI 6.1 updates available across the globe. In the following days, the update should appear in the Download and Install section of Settings if you own one of the phones listed above but haven’t received a notification.
