Apple’s iPhone SE may not be dead after all. In December, we learned that the iPhone SE 4 will use the iPhone 14’s battery, following a report in early 2023 that Apple was done with its affordable line. Renders purportedly showing next-gen models with iPhone XR-like design have been circulating for some time.
A new rumor suggests that Apple will not use a notch on the next iPhone SE, instead incorporating the Dynamic Island cutout and other features, as seen in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
As you can see in the image above, it would look like this. According to reports, the SE will only have one rear camera, otherwise adopting the modern iPhone design. It may actually look a lot like the upcoming iPhone 16. There will be very little difference in the SE’s dimensions from the XR’s.
All of this comes from the source, which cautions us to take it all with a grain of salt. As of March 2022, Apple has introduced one new SE model every two years – so the follow-up should arrive next month, but we’re inclined to think Apple still needs some time to finalize it since there have been no substantive leaks about it.
The next SE might not arrive until 2025, after the iPhone 16 launches this fall. A BOE display is expected to be on board when it lands.
