Just a few months ago, Apple announced the iPhone 15 series, but attention quickly turned to the iPhone 16. Several leaks have already surfaced about this upcoming smartphone, such as the recent discussion about the iPhone 16’s Geekbench 6 score for the A18 Pro processor. It’s not all good news, however. Kuo says the iPhone 16 is unlikely to feature significant design changes, except for the capture button.
Supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo often predicts Apple’s future moves by closely monitoring the company. Known for his accurate forecasts, Kuo shares both good and bad news. The iPhone 16 series won’t feature any significant design changes, according to his recent analysis, falling into the second category. “Apple will not launch new iPhone models with significant design changes until 2025 at the earliest,” wrote Kuo in a blog post today.
It is well known that Apple sticks to a consistent design, which has led to accusations that it sells similar phones over and over again. The introduction of Dynamic Island on iPhone 15 and iPhone Plus this year diverted attention from such criticisms. According to Kuo, the only significant change seems to be the addition of a “capture” button.
iPhone users are set to benefit from a notable innovation with the upcoming button. Users can assign tasks to the mute button, as you’re likely aware after the company recently unveiled an action button. For those who enjoy taking photos and videos, the capture button is poised to be a significant enhancement.
By swiping left and right on the button in the Camera app, users can zoom in and out, focus, and start video recording. This information has not been officially confirmed.
