One UI 6.1, Samsung’s latest software update, debuted on the Galaxy S24 series and offers several AI-driven features. Despite the minimal visual changes to Samsung’s interface, the software inside offers some new features.
“Live Translate” for real-time phone translation, “Generative Edit” for advanced photo manipulation, and “Generative Wallpapers” for AI-designed customizable backgrounds are all included in One UI 6.1. Although these additions aren’t groundbreaking, they offer practical functionality, with Live Translate potentially proving particularly useful for bridging communication gaps.
Also, Galaxy S24 users won’t be the only ones to receive the One UI 6.1 update. It has already been confirmed that Samsung will roll out the update to several other devices, including Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+, Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5.
One UI 6.1 will be rolled out to these devices in the first half of 2024. Also, One UI 6.1 test build has been spotted for these devices. The list includes Galaxy S22 series, and Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy A54, and Galaxy A34.
Due to less powerful processors, more complex AI features may not function as smoothly on older devices. As opposed to the Galaxy S24’s limited on-device capabilities, they may require an internet connection to process. The update might not be available on all devices.
