After a series of leaks and rumours about the much-awaited flagship of 2024 aka the Galaxy S24 series is finally official. The new Galaxy S24 series includes Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ & Galaxy S24 Ultra. All three of them come with almost similar specs with some minor upgrades when compared with predecessors.
Samsung Galaxy S24 & Galaxy S24+:
Design:
Samsung will debut the vanilla Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ smartphones in the colors that were previously leaked. Smartphones will be available in Onyx Black, Marble Gray, Cobalt Violet, and Amber Yellow colors. Samsung will also debut blue, green, and orange smartphones exclusively on Samsung.com.
It appears that the upcoming smartphones will feature rounded corners. On the right side of the device are the power and volume buttons. There is a USB Type-C port, SIM card tray, microphone, and speaker grille on the bottom of the device. Samsung will equip the device with a metallic body according to the images, which reveal the antenna lines. The device will be available in Cobalt Violet, Amber Yellow, Onyx Black, and Marble Gray.
Specs:
The Galaxy S24+ will come with the upgraded 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ panel. The Galaxy S23 will sport a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED FHD+ display. Both the devices will still support 48Hz-120Hz adaptive refresh rate support along with HDR10+ & the latest Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on top. Armor Aluminum 2.0 frames are used on the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+. Both of them come with HDR10+, Always On, Eye Comfort Shield, and Vision Booster.
The Galaxy S24 & Galaxy S24+ are powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC or Exynos 2400 SoC depending on regions. It comes with 8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB storage.
The Galaxy S24 & Galaxy S24+ will feature a 50MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture along with Dual Pixel technology. It comes with a 12MP ultra-wide sensor with 2x optical zoom and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, OIS. There is a 12MP (f/2.2) selfie shooter on both the Galaxy S24 & Galaxy S24+.
The Galaxy S24+ packs 4900 mAh whereas the Galaxy S23 with 4000 mAh battery with 45W fast wired charging support. It also gets 25W wireless fast charge and 10W reverse wireless charging support. Both the devices run on Android 14 OS with OneUI 6.1 on top.
The Galaxy S24 series comes with standard connectivity options like Dual SIM with Dual 4G LTE, VoLTE, 5G, Wifi 6x, Wifi 7 (S24+) NFC, UWB, USB Type-C port, A-GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 5.3, ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner support. The Galaxy S24 & Galaxy S24+ will also have support for water and dust resistance as it has an IP68 rating.
In addition, both models will be equipped with improved cooling (probably to handle AI capabilities more effectively). In comparison to last year’s models, the S24 is likely to have a 1.5x larger vapor chamber, while the S24 Plus will likely have a 1.6x larger one.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra:
The Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphone will be available in Titanium Grey, Titanium Violet, Titanium Yellow, and Titanium Black colors. According to the images, Samsung will equip the smartphones with a flat AMOLED panel instead of curved panels.
On the right side of the device, you’ll find the power button and volume rocker. There are large bezels on all four sides of the screen on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphone. Additionally, Samsung will debut the smartphone in three more colors exclusively on Samsung.com.
Also confirmed in the render is Samsung’s S Pen stylus, which matches the phone’s color. Silver, light brown, and green are likely to be these colors. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is available in Titanium Black, Titanium Gray, Titanium Violet, and Titanium Yellow color options.
Specs:
The device sports a 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X LTPO 2.0 flat display. The device also comes with the latest Corning Gorilla Glass Armor on top. The new Galaxy S24 Ultra will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC coupled with lower 12GB RAM and 256GB/512GB/1TB storage. This time the device comes with a titanium frame which offers a premium feel. The S24 Ultra will likely have a 1.9 times larger vapor chamber than its predecessor.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra comes with a 200MP main sensor coupled with OIS & 2x optical zoom. There is a 12MP f/2.2 aperture ultra-wide sensor with 3x optical zoom and dual Pixel AF along with a 50MP & 10MP telephoto lens, OIS, 5x & 10x optical zoom.
The ProVisual Engine and an ISP Block for noise reduction are new this year. You can erase objects and let AI fill in the empty space with Generative Edit in the ProVision Engine. By straightening a crooked shot, it can also fill in empty spaces. A video can be smoothly slowed down with Instant Slow-mo by generating additional frames.
With improved optical image stabilization and enhanced hand-shake compensation, nightography has been upgraded. Noise will be handled by the dedicated ISP Block for both front and rear cameras.
There is a 12MP selfie shooter with an f/2.2 aperture. It comes with S-pen support and packs a 5000 mAh battery with 45W fast charge & 10W reverse wireless charge. It runs on Android 14 with One UI 6.1 on top.

Galaxy AI Features:
With Live Translate, Interpreter, and Chat Assist, you can translate voice and text in real time. Translate lives inside the native phone app, and Interpreter is a split-screen app that transcribes live conversations between two people. With Chat Assist, translated conversations become natural. At launch, these features are available in 13 languages.
With Android Auto, you can summarize incoming messages and suggest replies, such as sending someone your estimated arrival time.
Note Assist can summarize notes, create templates and covers, and streamline notes with premade formats inside Samsung Notes.
Using Artificial Intelligence and Speech-to-Text, Transcript Assist will transcribe, summarize, and translate recordings.
Circle to Search is a gesture-driven feature developed in collaboration with Google. To get search results, long press the home button and you can circle, highlight, scribble on, or tap anything on the screen – such as the landmark in the background of someone’s Instagram photo.
SoC on Galaxy S24 Series:
With the Galaxy S24 and S24+ phones, Samsung is taking a two-chipset approach with different SoCs depending on the market. South Korea, the US, China and Australia will get Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered Galaxy S24 and S24+ devices this year, whereas other markets will get Samsung’s Exynos 2400 chipset. On the other hand, the S24 Ultra will come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
Pricing:
The Galaxy S24 will start at $799 (Rs.66,500/-) while the Galaxy S24+ will start at $999 (Rs.83,100/-) with a 256GB base storage. Last but not least, the Galaxy S24 Ultra with 256GB of storage will cost €1,450 (Rs.1,31,100/-) & 512GB at €1,570 (Rs.1,42,000/-). In addition to the above-mentioned color options, Samsung store-exclusive colors include Jade Green, Sapphire Blue, and Sandstone Orange.
