Since 2016, HMD Global has owned the Nokia brand for its smartphones, and their contract expires in 2025. The company is undergoing significant changes, according to recent reports. The company previously announced that they would launch their own-branded devices. We have now seen leaked renders of the company’s first phone, giving us a good idea of what it will look like.
HMD Global appears to be a budget smartphone based on the leaked render. Featuring a rectangular camera module on the back panel, it has a basic design language. The unit houses two sensors and an LED flash. In the center of the rear panel is also the HMD branding. With the power and volume rocker buttons on the right edge and the SIM tray on the left edge, the device appears to have a flat frame.
There is a center-aligned punch-hole cutout display on the front of the HMD Global-branded phone. In the leaked render, it appears in a matte black color option. There are no additional details about the smartphone in the report.
Last November, two HMD Global phones with model numbers N159V and TA-1585 were spotted on the IMEI database. In the leaked render, one of them appears to be the device. As of now, the key specifications of these devices remain unknown. In April, HMD is expected to launch its own branded phones in India.
